What is the Message tab in Student Detail View, and how can staff use it?

The Message tab is a crucial communication tool for staff members, allowing them to exchange messages with students and track all interactions. It provides various functionalities to streamline communication and ensure effective student support.


Key Features of the Message Tab:

  1. One-on-One Messaging – Staff can directly send messages to students and view past conversations.

  2. View All Student Messages – Staff can see messages exchanged between the student and other staff members, but they cannot reply to those conversations.

  3. Threaded Conversations – Clicking on a message opens the conversation thread, where staff can reply using a rich text editor and attach files.

  4. Compose a New Message – Clicking the "Write a New Message" button allows staff to create a new message by entering the subject and body.

  5. Filtering Options – Staff can search and filter messages based on subject keywords.

Message Categories & Tabs:

  • Inbox – Displays all received messages, sorted from latest to oldest.

  • Drafts – Stores unsent messages, with an option to delete drafts.

  • Unread – Shows only unread messages for quick access.

  • Archived – Lists messages archived by the student for future reference.

With these features, the Message tab enables seamless communication between staff and students, helping to track interactions and provide timely guidance.
