What Happens in the “Activity” Tab of a Community?

📌 Activity Tab is your go-to space for everything happening in a community or university space. It’s a centralized, interactive feed where students, staff, and mentors share updates, events, resources, and discussions.


🔄 What You’ll See

There are 4 main tabs inside the Activity section:

  1. All – Displays all events, announcements, and posts.

  2. Events – Shows only upcoming or ongoing events in the community.

  3. Announcements – Important admin posts with broad visibility.

  4. My Posts – View and manage content you’ve created. Hide, edit, or delete as needed.


📬 Notifications You Receive

  • 📧 Email notifications when someone tags you in a post or comment.

  • 📢 Emails for announcements or new events published in the community.

  • 🔔 In-app notifications keep you updated in real-time, ensuring you never miss key info.


🧠 What Members Usually Post

  • ✍️ Educational articles

  • 📚 Subject-specific study materials

  • 🎓 Tips for exams, certifications, interviews

  • 💼 Job openings, project ideas, internships

  • 📸 Highlights from recent events or workshops

  • 🧩 Helpful links, tutorials, or personal reflections

Many students just scroll the feed daily to learn something new —it's a live knowledge stream.


📝 Creating Posts

Click the “Post” button to start. You’ll see 3 tabs:

  • Post – For general sharing (all users)

  • Announcement – For important updates (admins only)

  • Event – To schedule events with details (admins only)


🧰 Editor Features:

  • Format text, add bullet points, headers, code blocks

  • Insert images, attachments, inline links

  • Mention users using @Full Name (auto-notifies them via notification, email)


💬 Interacting With Posts

  • ✅ Like a post or comment

  • 💬 Add comments or replies

  • 🏷️ Mention/tag others via @Full Name.

  • 📎 Download attachments


  • 👁 Click on “View” or “X likes” to explore deeper

  • ✂️ Delete, hide, or edit your own posts or comments

  • Clicking on the name of user in the posts will open their full profile in new tab.
