App Author Best Practices: Analytics and Tracking App Data
The App Author Analytics page tracks all data related to Learning App usage and recommendations:
Admins and App authors can use this data to track the effectiveness of user “GOALS” within a community. “GOALS” = apps, badges and custom goals. Information can allow admin to determine the following:
Are users adding content on their own without prompts from coaches
Are users completing the Apps they are adding or accepting (this speaks to the quality of the Apps and to the coaches supporting App completion)
Are “custom goals” being used effectively on the platform
Are coaches App recommendations being accepted by users in the community
Top Used, Completed and Recommended APPS are KEY in understanding the usefulness of specific APPS and whether or APP recommendations have consistent follow through.
APP Authoring Pipeline is a SNAPSHOT of the content being created, published, delivered to users, etc. Tracking this data can help admins monitor the effectiveness of APP Author work.
BEST PRACTICE: A deep dive into the analytics of Apps helps Program Managers better understand App Usage and measure the user engagement within each app. Checking this data can lead to developing useful strategies in improving overall app/content development, coaching strategies in relation to app recommendations as well as interventions with users to improve experience in and around content.
