App Author Best Practices: Moderated Badges Intro Page
Best Practice (moderated badges): Moderated Badges (Authentic Badges) allow for a more comprehensive approach to competency-based credentialing making it important to develop thorough assessments that accurately measure the competency of focus.
Best Practice (Badge overview): Make sure to identify the specific competency/skill you are measuring with the badge and describe what it means for a user to merit a badge at this level.
Best Practice (resources/apps for badges): Provide your learners with all published content in community that provide them with the key building blocks to better prepare them for the competencies and skills being measured in the Badge Exams. Listing outside resources (i.e. websites, publications, etc.) that learners can choose to access in relation to this badge exam can help them develop more knowledge around the content area.
Best Practice (sample questions): Example question should accomplish the following (1) Learners understand what competency/skill/content area badge is covering (2) After seeing the example, learners should be able to gauge whether or not they are either ready for the badge exam or access the recommended apps/resource to better prepare themselves.
